Lovely friendly service, great location
The rooms are large, airy, furnishing comfortable, beds huge and comfy, everything we needed

We enjoyed our stay, the room had all we needed. Some of the decor was a little worn, and for some reason the shower curtain over the spa bath was not long enough, it was very difficult to keep the water from going everywhere.
The large king-sized bed was very comfortable and the bedding fit the bed properly (in other motels we have found bedding to be to small).

Not my first choice

This place was a last minute decision; I tried to book other places but they were fully booked and it was fine for just 1 night. It was a spacious studio with small terrace; cleanliness was just at acceptable level, soft mattress and helpful staff. There was a dusty smell in the studio like it was not used for a long time and I think the rooms are really in need for some proper renovation. Good for a short stay, but not luxury enough in any way for a longer stay, at least not for me. The lodge is located at 10 minutes walking distance of city centre and not far from the beach. Although nothing really wrong with this place I would opt for another one next time.

This hotel was every thing we wanted.
Every thing was clean & spotless. Very friendly staff

We were at a conference for in Devonport for one day.
Saved us going back to Milford. So we join in with our conference friends latter on in the evening.
We would recommend the hotel rooms to any one from N.Z or overseas .

Really good location,only 5 mins to Devonport where 10min trip on ferry gets you to central Auckland,no parking worries and service every hour.

Good accommodation in a good location
Large clean comfortable room; easy access and close to Takapuna beach

Great for access to the city without being in the city, with very easy access to Highway 1; and very close to Takapuna shops restaurants and beach
Restaurant Tip:
Manuka Cafe, Devonport. An atmospheric rustic cafe with great food at good prices

Fine hotel good service, could have been cleaner

The hotel was generally pleasant but was not as quiet or secluded as we expected. The young man in reception was very pleasant and helpful and provided good service. We liked being within easy walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Overall it was a good experience.

Very basic motel on a busy main road

the motel wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great either. the staff were friendly and accommodating, making arrangements for us to be able to get into our rooms after it looked like we would not make it before reception closed at 9pm. the rooms were quite spacious, but they were a bit shabby and the extractor fan in the bathroom was very loud. it was impossible to open the windows for fresh air while sleeping as our room was right on the main road and was just too noisy. the aircon was also much to loud to use while sleeping, the ceiling fan was marginally better. it was also uncomfortable to open the curtains as people on the street could see straight in - would have been nice to have some sheer curtains for some privacy. i think there are probably better value motels in the area but we were only staying for one night so we made do.

easy to find great location on good bus route
good sized bathroom and lovely roomy studio

we only wish we could have spent more time in auckland and we know where to stay if we manage to get up there again
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
buses run along past on their way to devonport where a ferry takes you across to auckland central frequently and this saves you having to pay for parking somewhere.
